I’m sorry for posting this, but I’ve seen it being shared all over Facebook, accompanied by Anti-Abortion messages, saying that it’s disgusting, wrong, terrible, immoral, etc, to have an abortion.
I completely disagree, and I think anyone who thinks of abortion in the above manner (no matter the circumstances of the abortion), is an ignorant idiot.
Yes, this picture/method is gross and looks awful, but abortions most often (88%-92% of them) take place during the first trimester (before 13 weeks), when the fetus is NO WHERE NEAR this developed.
This picture is entirely misleading, showing a fetus nearly 6 months into pregnancy.
Again, I’m sorry for posting this.
It just really makes me sick that people can sit there and judge others for getting and/or supporting abortion, when there are so many circumstances they aren’t aware of or ignore, so much progress made medically and scientifically, and even simply the fact that some people are not ready or fit to raise or carry a child, and that those people have a choice.
I, personally, would rather children be raised by parents who WANT them, than by a parent/parents who will resent their birth, but were too proud/embarrassed/afraid to get an abortion.
If you make the choice to have a child, it will be a glorious miracle, and surely, you will find a love in that child that you have never known.
If you aren’t ready for all that, and you know this, and you choose to have an abortion, that decision is just as beautiful.
You are not just saying, “fuck it, I guess this is my life now,” as these people apparently think you should.
Either decision is yours, and no one should ever judge you for it.
